Funding Boost for Community Infrastructure Projects in Willoughby

Fifteen grassroots community projects across Willoughby will benefit from $450,000 in funding through the NSW Government’s 2025 Community Building Partnership (CBP) Program.

Member for Willoughby Tim James said the funding will support local groups that are at the heart of community life. “These grants will deliver grassroots improvements across a wide range of local facilities, clubs, schools and community organisations,” Mr James said. “It’s fantastic to have secured this funding to support their work and help strengthen the places that bring us together.”

A standout recipient is Cammeray Public School’s P&C, which will receive funding for the next stage of an upgrade to the school’s ageing playground. “This is a project I’ve been advocating for, and I’m thrilled to see it now move forward. The current playground is more than 25 years old and in poor condition. This investment will help deliver a modern, safe and inclusive playground that will make a big difference for our children and families.”

“Many of these may be small projects, but they are practical upgrades that make a real difference and a big impact in our community—from kids and families to seniors and vulnerable residents,” Mr James said.

The fifteen projects I have secured funding for in the 2025 CBP round include:

  • Cammeray Public School (P&C) – Playground upgrade
  • Artarmon Public School (P&C) – Installation of modern water stations for students and visitors to Thompson Oval
  • Chatswood Rangers Sports Club – Lighting upgrade at Chatswood High School Oval
  • Willoughby Community Preschool – Replacement of outdated air-conditioning with energy-efficient system
  • Willoughby Park Bowling & Recreation Club – Installation of all-weather shade
  • Chatswood Bowling Club – Replacement equipment to maintain bowling greens
  • Willoughby Arts Centre – Refurbishment of washroom facilities
  • Cammeray Golf Club – Outdoor and indoor space improvements for community use
  • Streetwork Australia – Purchase of equipment to support youth outreach
  • Northbridge Macarthur Bulls FC Foundation – New football training equipment
  • St Paul’s Anglican Church, Chatswood – Installation of solar panels to improve energy efficiency
  • 1st Sailors Bay Sea Scouts, Castlecrag – Boatshed gutter and roof upgrades
  • Lower North Shore Community Transport – Installation of accessible steps in bus to support mobility-impaired clients
  • St Mark’s Anglican Church, Northbridge – Hall refurbishment
  • St Basil’s Anglican Church, Artarmon – Outdoor enhancement and kitchen upgrades for community events

“I congratulate each of the successful organisations and thank them for the vital role they play in building a better Willoughby.”
