In another example of the Minns Labor Government’s failure to deliver on their election promises, recently announced changes to local bus routes have failed to reinstate the 272 bus service linking North Willoughby to Wynyard.
During the election campaign, Labor promised to reinstate the 272 service. At the time, Labor announced in a social media post featuring then Shadow Transport Minister Jo Haylen and then Willoughby Labor candidate Sarah Griffin, “Huge community win - A Chris Minns Labor Government will work to bring back the 272.”
With 15 months having passed since Labor's election, and with a major revision to routes having now been proposed, it's clear no action has been taken on delivering Labor's commitment on the 272.
This broken promise is part of a broader pattern of Labor's failures in delivering on their election commitments.
Time and again, pledges are made with great fanfare, only to be quietly abandoned. Our community deserves better than empty promises and half-hearted efforts. It's clear the Minns Labor Government has failed the people of Willoughby.
I will continue to advocate for the needs of our community and hold the Minns Labor Government accountable.
